Beth Bacon doesn’t simply write books for young readers (though there’s nothing simple about that). She is also an educator, an award-winning book designer, a marketing pro, and she even has a podcast! Check out her many skills.

Beth Bacon teaches at Maryville University. She also teaches in-person and online courses on writing picture books and graphic novels.

Freelance Marketing

Beth holds a MA in communication from NYU. Before getting into writing for young readers, she spent many years as a branding and marketing consultant. She still works as a freelancer for Atomic Revenue doing marketing and design. 

Book Design

 Graphic design and typography are big passions for Beth. She designed several of her own books and designs books for independent authors on a freelance basis because all books deserve to look awesome. 

Volunteer

 Getting out in the community and helping out is important! Beth is a volunteer at her local Humane Society, History Museum, and an organization that makes books for Ethiopia

Beth teaches at a range of levels: elementary, college, and lifelong learners. Beth is an adjunct professor at Maryville University. She also teaches programs at elementary schools. Plus she shares her knowledge of writing for young readers to adults online and at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild

Graphic Designer

In addition to writing great books, Beth Bacon loves typography, page design, and the interplay of words and pictures . As a graphic designer, she has been honored with several awards, including First Place in book design from NFPW (National Federation of Press Women).
